Radio: Drum'n'bass Show with Science Hki @ Basso Radio 06/08/2012

Here's the last week's show. Some liquid tings in the beginning, and in the end. Dillinja records stayed in the record bag this time. Better luck next time. Also one thing to remember next time is to check that the mic you are speaking to is actually on. Hope you don't mind.

Next show will be on friday the 13th of july.

Radio: Drum'n'bass show with Fanu feat. Science HKI @ Basso radio 05/18/2012

Another Basso Radio related post here. As mentioned in the previous post, we did a little guest appearance last night in Fanu's show. The show has some dope track selection by the F-man, an interview, b2b2b2b mixing by us and some questionable mic action. Hope you enjoy the show, we had fun. Also make sure you check out our debut show on the same radio station if you haven't yet. And if you're in the front page, that's the post below this one.

Radio: Drum'n'bass Show with Science Hki @ Basso Radio 05/11/2012

As promised, here's the recording of our first show on Basso Radio. We were a bit nervous at first, which you can maybe hear. Hopefully we'll be more relaxed when doing the next show, which will be 8th of June, 10-12 PM CET+1.

Make sure you tune in to Basso on friday for the Drum'n'bass Show, this week hosted by Fanu, as we're going to do a little guest appearance there with some interview stuff and b2b2b2 mixing.

Actually, make sure you tune in to Basso Radio every friday night for the Drum'n'bass show with different hosts each week.

Science Helsinki goes Basso Radio

We have some good news to reveal: starting from this week's Friday, we will be one of the hosts of the weekly drum'n'bass show on a Finnish FM radio station Basso Radio along with Muffler & Burma, Fanu and Physics.

Each of the hosts have a monthly slot on a certain week of the month, and the cycle goes like this:
1st friday of the month: Physics
2nd friday of the month: Science Hki
3rd friday of the month: Fanu
4th friday of the month: Muffler & Burma

What you can expect from us is pretty much the same kind of things we've been playing in our podcast, alongside some chatting in our lovely native language. In future we might also have some guests, guest mixes and interviews, but most likely not during the first couple of shows.

Make sure you tune in this friday at 10-12 PM Finnish time either at Basso website (click play in the bottom of the page if the streaming doesn't start), or with your radio. The frequencies are:
Helsinki: 102,4 Mhz
Tampere: 103,1 Mhz
Turku: 101,9 Mhz
Jyväskylä: 99,7 Mhz
Oulu: 105,4 Mhz

Mix: Arctic Bass - Science Hki takeover with Trisector & St. Laurent

Here's a link of a b2b mix we did on Arctic Bass show on last saturday. It's mostly drum'n'bass, although I did play some 115 bpm house kind of stuff in the beginning.

If you want to know more about the show, check out the Facebook page. It is actually a mostly breakbeat/dubstep oriented show I'm doing with couple of friends as Takomo, but every now and then we do something different, like this show :)

Anyway, download the mp3, and you can click "read more" for the full tracklist.

Current state of Finnish jungle. Nuff sed.

Science Hki goes (at least for a couple of monts)

A friend of ours, Docius has been hosting his own show called Viidakkorumpu on for a couple of years now. Viidakkorumpu could be translated as "Jungle Drum" in english and that should already tell enough about the show's agenda, as Docius tends to drop some gritty street style jungle and 90's drum'n'bass, with some new crispy beats dropped every now and then in his own uncompromising style.

He's now travelling somewhere on the other side of the world, and VVR and Axu (or according to website, Axxx) are going to host the show, with occasional guests, for the next few months. The show airs live from Helsinki every 2nd week, starting today at 2:30 PM GMT. Check from the schedule how that places on your time zone, and make sure you tune in!
