This is Drum & Bass are doing a series of interviews with drum'n'bass dj's and producers from the United States to see what's going on on the other side of the pond. First one to feature in this series is Method One.

The seasoned DJ, producer, and label front man took the chance to talk about his introduction to drum and bass, how the US and global scenes have changed over the years, as well as commenting on what’s both right and wrong with the D&B of today. He also shared a few choice words about dubstep and piracy, while sharing some sage advice for those looking to break in to the scene….

As promised, here's the recording of our first show on Basso Radio. We were a bit nervous at first, which you can maybe hear. Hopefully we'll be more relaxed when doing the next show, which will be 8th of June, 10-12 PM CET+1.

Squarepusher's High Five

Tom Jenkinson selected five jungle tracks that sprung to his mind for XLR8R mag and accompanied them with some words. The guy's always been a massive influence to me and the tracks are wicked, check em' if you feel that you haven't had your daily dose of amen madness.

Twisted Anger - Exquisite. Released on Ray Keith`s label Penny Black in 1997 is a devastating Amen tune that features some very slick filtering on the breaks which to my ears make this track standout from the crowd. Very moody and dark just the way I like it :)

Science Helsinki goes Basso Radio

We have some good news to reveal: starting from this week's Friday, we will be one of the hosts of the weekly drum'n'bass show on a Finnish FM radio station Basso Radio along with Muffler & Burma, Fanu and Physics.

Each of the hosts have a monthly slot on a certain week of the month, and the cycle goes like this:
1st friday of the month: Physics
2nd friday of the month: Science Hki
3rd friday of the month: Fanu
4th friday of the month: Muffler & Burma

What you can expect from us is pretty much the same kind of things we've been playing in our podcast, alongside some chatting in our lovely native language. In future we might also have some guests, guest mixes and interviews, but most likely not during the first couple of shows.

Make sure you tune in this friday at 10-12 PM Finnish time either at Basso website (click play in the bottom of the page if the streaming doesn't start), or with your radio. The frequencies are:
Helsinki: 102,4 Mhz
Tampere: 103,1 Mhz
Turku: 101,9 Mhz
Jyväskylä: 99,7 Mhz
Oulu: 105,4 Mhz
